Pastors Biography

Pastor Richard Lynn and his wife, Mary, are the senior pastors of Grace Bible Church in Shelton, CT. They have one son, Dylan, who is actively involved in the ministry. Pastor Rich was born and raised in a Jewish home, attended Hebrew school and was bar mitzvahed at the age of 13. He went on a journey for thirteen years looking for God. He could not understand the “religious” God he grew up with. He somehow knew that God was not a God of religion, but of relationship. He encountered many struggles along the way and soon found himself in despair and in need of help. As Rich cried out, God began to progressively reveal Himself to him. He received Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior on December 24, 1989 after watching a movie called “The Greatest Story Ever Told” and had a supernatural vision of Jesus hanging on the cross. The Lord spoke to him that day and said, “Come and follow Me”. Pastor Mary Lynn was raised Catholic, but was convicted by the testimonies of three former Christian coworkers who eventually led her to the Lord by repeating the sinner’s prayer. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and began attending Calvary Evangelical Church in Trumbull, CT in 1990. A few years later, they met each other at a Singles Ministry event at Church On The Rock in New Haven, CT under the leadership of Dr. Todd and Pastor Leslie Foster where Pastor Rich was a member. They got married on December 3, 1994. Heeding the call of God upon their lives, they were released in 1995 to begin a drug and alcohol recovery ministry at Church On The Rock in Niagra Falls, NY where Pastor Rich was ordained as the Youth Pastor and eventually an Associate Pastor. In 2004, God led Rich and Mary back to Connecticut where Pastor Rich resumed his involvement in the prison ministry while attending Church On The Rock in New Haven once again. After much prayer and prophetic words, the Lynn’s were released in 2011 to take over the ministry of Grace Bible Church by it’s founder, Pastor Louis Santoro in Shelton, CT. Within one year, the congregation was able to move into it’s current location at 269 Coram Avenue, right across the street from the town’s City Hall. Eventually, Mary was ordained as a Pastor on March 5, 2016. Together, Pastors Rich and Mary Lynn desire to lead people to Christ to fulfill their purpose that God ordained for them. Grace Bible Church is under the spiritual covering of Dr. Tom and Pastor Kathie Lounsbury of Lighthouse Ministries International in Danbury, CT.
